Amber is a gem who took part in the war on earth, fighting in the more mountainous terrain.after the war, she was trained by homeworld to be a beast tamer, in the hopes of taming and controlling corrupted gems.
this never came to pass. homeworlds efforts failed, and eventually Amber left homeworld (of course, without their approval or permission) to work on her own as a rogue gem. she is not aligned with the Crystal gems.
she does, however, continue her efforts to tame Corrupted gems, though so far there has been no success on her part.
Amber can tame other creatures though, with thousands of years of practice and technique under her belt. She definitely has an affinity for animals both on Earth and on other planets.

-the blade of her spear can be deactivated. essentially, the blade of her spear can be dismissed, leaving the weapon itself as more of a staff and a less lethal weapon when she needs to subdue instead of destroy.
-Amber is very quiet. when she is not dead silent, her voice is still lowered almost constantly. it is very rare to hear her speak in any way that is loud.
-while she is not fast, Amber is strong, and her agility is certainly something else.
-She attempts to be stoic and intimidating, but that demeanor can be easily broken. It is very easy to make Amber blush.
